Who they are: Streetlight involves UF students providing hospital-bound
teens with companionship. One of their mottos is “bringing the light from the street into the lives of
hospitalized adolescents.”
What they do: Through working the Teen Lounge and doing room visitations, UF student volunteers build
relationships with hospital-bound teens under “extreme and sometimes difficult situations.”
What YOU can do to help: This volunteer opportunity is a highly competitive one among UF students. They
only ask you to fill out an application if you are serious about volunteering with them and can commit to 3 hours a
week for 2 years. There is a waiting list to volunteer. Please carefully read the information on the website about
the program if you are interested in volunteering.
