What they do: Kids Count in Alachua County, Inc. hosts during and after school programs at schools and host sites like churches or organizations.  Their goal is to assist children in reaching their highest potential by building their social skills, confidence, and academic performance.   

What YOU can do to help: Volunteers are needed for one hour each week to help children with their homework, reading, math, or as a mentor.  After-school programs are held at Rawlings Elementary and Faith United Methodist Church. 

Volunteers are also needed on the following teams:

School Team: helping understand schools' needs and establishing relationships with schools

Volunteer Team: helping to recruit volunteers for the organization

Fundraising and Publicity Team: help plan and run fundraisers and increase awareness of the organization

Host Team: finding organizations that may be able to host after-school programs
