What they do: Gator Smiles raises money
for the organization Love Without Boundaries and supports
the craniofacial clinics of Shands and UF. Love
Without Boundaries provides orphans in China with cleft
lip/palate surgeries. Gator Smiles organizes
fundraisers such as car washes, frisbee tournaments, 5k
walks/runs, and bake sales. To support the
craniofacial department at Shands, members of Gator
Smiles bring cards and gift baskets to the
children. They also sometimes make bears at
Build-A-Bear Workshops to give to the
children.
What YOU can do to help: If you are
a college student at UF and would like to be a part of
this service organization, contact Stephanie Uhazie or
check the website for the date of their next
meeting. They meet on certain Thursdays at 7:15
p.m. in the Reitz Union Room 285.
