promote tourism in Gainesville and the county of Alachua.

What they do: The Gainesville Sports Commission hosts and helps to host more than 30
events every year. These include the Sunshine State Games; State High School Championships in Swimming,
Diving, Tennis, Weightlifting, Track and Field, and Football; the AAU Track and Field Championship, and the
United States Synchronized Swimming National Championships at the collegiate level. The Gainesville
Sports Commission also helps sports teams in the community host major events.
What YOU can do to help: Volunteers are needed for a wide range of activities, including
moving sports equipment, ticket taking, scoring, and timing. If you would like to volunteer, fill out
the Volunteer Application and send it by e-mail to Alex Alston.
