futures, and stronger communities.
What
they do: Big Brothers Big

relationships for children.
What
YOU can do to help: Volunteers are needed
in the following two types of mentorship programs:
Community Based
Mentors: These mentors meet
with their Little about 3 hours a week in the evenings or on
the weekends.
They participate in activities specifically tailored to each
child’s interests and needs. This works out best when
the Big knows he or she will be in Gainesville for a long
period of a time since the goal is to build life-long
relationships.
Bigs in Schools and
Sites: These mentors meet
with their Little for about an hour a week in a school or
approved site.
This is a better choice for mentors that don’t know if they
will be in Gainesville for a long period of
time. There
is always the option to become a Community Based Mentor
after you are get to know your Little.
